eBay For Business – 3 Ways to Use EBay For a Brick and Mortar Business

Many people tend to think of eBay as a place to sell their unwanted items, or to sell cheap items that they have picked up along the way and use it more as a home based, part time business. However, what many people fail to realise is that eBay can also be used successfully for brick and mortar businesses. Now doesn’t that open a range of other possibilities?

Many people think that auction and bidding are the only way to sell on eBay, but you can also set a price and a buy now option – and this is perfect for anyone with a brick and mortar business. Here are some ideas to help you along with using eBay for Business.

Seasonal Stock
If you have seasonal stock and the season is running out, you could then offer the stock on eBay as “End Of Season Sale”. So not only could you run an end of season sale for your business, you can also promote the products for the end of season sale on eBay. Many people like bargains and promoting your products on eBay as End of Season Sale could give your products, as well as your brick and mortar store far more exposure.

One thing that you must do though is to make sure that you remove the stock from your shelves – you do not want to run out and have unhappy customers give negative feedback as this will damage your reputation.

Damaged Goods
Sometimes products get damage that is not really major, for example a scratch or the packaging ripped, or people have opened packages and so others will not buy already opened packages and you are left with all of these products. While the product may have that kind of damage on the outside, the product itself is fine and still usable.

However, you could harness the power of eBay to sell these items at a reduced cost form the retail price and still make a profit. If you do this though you must make sure that you state very clearly that the product is damaged and exactly what the damage is. Having photos of the rip / scratch / damaged area would also help to sell the product so that the buyer can see exactly what they will be getting.

Increase Awareness of Your Online Website
If you have a few items on your eBay store and you get interest and buyers, sooner or later they will look at your About ME page to find out more about you and your products. You must make sure that you follow the rules for promoting your own site so you do not get banned.
